Taking part in the games are the New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox (home team for both games).  ​Further, MLB pledged to playing in London in 2020 to “establish a long-term footprint in the city.” ​“Major League Baseball is excited to be bringing one of the most storied rivalries in sports to the passionate fans of London,” said MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. “In our ongoing efforts to grow baseball, there is nothing as impactful as bringing live games and our talented players to fans. Baseball, Softball Present Unified Vision for the 2020 Olympic Games

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — The leaders of the new World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), presented today their unified vision for the inclusion of baseball and softball in the 2020 Olympic Games to the IOC’s Olympic Programme Commission. Led by the WBSC’s Co-presidents Don Porter and Riccardo Fraccari, the delegation also included 2008 Olympian Maria Soto from Venezuela and national team pitcher and professional player, Alessandro Maestri from Italy as well as current IBAF Vice President, Antonio Castro, and ISF Secretary General Beng Choo Low. “During our absence from the Olympic Programme, we have been listening and learning and, in the process, have challenged ourselves to be imaginative about how we deliver real and tangible added value for the Olympic Movement,” said President Porter. “In addition, we set out to show how combining our disciplines would create new economic and operational efficiencies for the OCOGs and the IOC. First European woman invited by Major League Baseball is Danish

Major League Baseball has informed the Danish Baseball Federation that 15-year-old Siff Haagen Salsø and 16-year-old Peter Brødsgaard Moore were invited to try-outs for 2013 MLB European Academy. It turns out to be the first time a European woman has been invited to MLB Academy Try-outs. To select the 50 best 15-19-year-old players for this year’s Academy, MLB hosts five try-out meetings around Europe. The Danes successfully took part May 1. from 3-7 PM at Pim Mullier Stadium in Haarlem, Netherlands and can now be for the Academy by June 1. The Academy will take place in Tirrenia, Italy from July 31-August 16. The Academy of MLB’s European programmes has been very successful in helping to develop the region’s best players. Since it started in 2005, has 297 players from 30 Nations competed in the Academy, with 55 of the players who sign professional contracts with Major League Baseball clubs in the United States. And, more recently, Alex Liddi (Italy) (Seattle Mariners, MLB Academy 2005) and Donald Lutz (Germany) (Cincinnati Reds, MLB Academy 2007) were the first players from the program to reach the major leagues....

Young Danish players travels to Japan

The yearly World Children’s Baseball Fair (WCBF) for 2015 is set and the Danish Baseball Federation (DBaF) is invited to participate. wcbf_06 In December 2014, the DBaF received the invitation to attend this year WCBF event, with 5 children and 1 chaperon. The children and chaperon are chosen and are getting ready to travel on August 2nd for 10 days to Chiba where the event will take place. Since the age of the children is between 10 and 11 years old, they were primarily selected from parents that somehow know the coach/chaperon that is traveling with them. The event will include an opening and closing ceremony. The camp days in between, the kids will enjoy morning baseball clinics with coaches from the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and WCBF. In the afternoons, every country invited will make a presentation/show related to the culture to which they belong.
